About this Calculator

This web page was developed by Thomas Spain in collaboration with Beth Morris, Alexandra Hunt, Tony Marson, and Laura Bonnett at the University of Liverpool, as part of the PRISE project, funded by the Academy of Medical Sciences.

The prediction model behind this tool was developed using data from the SANAD clinical trial. It is important to note that inputs referring to the time of the first hospital appointment can also reflect the time of diagnosis, first outpatient clinic visit, or start of antiseizure medication. These events occurred very close together in the trial and are treated similarly in the model.

This tool is intended to support use by a clinician during a consultation with a patient.
